The restaurants and cafes make good use of fresh, local produce when it’s at its seasonal best. For those who have a sweet tooth, don’t miss desserts like cranachan – raspberries, oatmeal, cream and honey mixed with a wee taste of whisky!
Visit the regular farmers’ markets and meet some of the producers who give us the opportunity to buy top class food.
There will also be plenty of opportunity to take home a flavour of local produce including smoked salmon and meats, delicious baking or fine chocolates.
Not forgetting those that enjoy a tipple. Perthshire has three of Scotland’s most popular whisky distilleries – Dewar’s at Aberfeldy and in Pitlochry, Bell’s and Edradour. Beer drinkers are also catered for – Moulin Brewery was one of Scotland’s first independent micro-breweries and produces a range of acclaimed beers.
